Y.E.S. All Access 2014
District YES Conference Coordinator: John Sadler
June 2014
At Trevecca Nazarene University
Nashville, Tennessee
Application and Information
The Y.E.S. Conference (Youth Equipped to Serve) is a weeklong event designed to equip and encourage high school students who feel a call to the ministry. There are "ministry specific" tracks for training that take place during the event that include: Pastoral ministry, missions/ compassionate ministry, children's ministry, youth ministry and music ministry
.
There will be workshop leaders from those fields who direct each of those tracks. Each day there is group worship and teaching that takes place. One of the highlights of the week is the service opportunities where the students can "put into practice" the things they have been learning about throughout the week. Hands-on experience is a primary purpose of the event. There is also a real focus on learning to listen to God and helping to clarify the call they may be dealing with.
Mississippi will have a district "mentor" that attends the event with the students and helps with accountability and follow-up after the event.
Y.E.S also provides:
* a small group setting (no more than 150 students will be involved in this intense ministry experience setting.)
* a low price. (The conference is designed to be a low cost so it will not be an inhibiting factor. The cost of Y.E.S will be $175 - which includes housing, meals, registration fee, and transportation, if postmarked or submitted by May 24, 2014. Cost is $25 MORE after that date.)
After May 24, phone or personal interviews will be conducted with all applicants. Your Pastor's recommendation is also needed.
There is a limit to the number MS can take to this event. Therefore not all will be selected. This event is open to Juniors and Seniors since this is a bi-annual event.
Transportation will be coordinated through the district. More details concerning this will come out closer to the event.
