Special Notice from Bill Horning, NYI Quiz Director
It has just been discovered that there is an error in our Scripture Portion for John 2:11. From what I can ascertain, the correct verse has “in Cana of Galilee”. This is taken from an official file received from Zondervan and Biblegateway.com.
The problem is that our Scripture Portion from Nazarene Publishing House has “at Cana in Galilee”, like John 2:1. Some of our material has it one way and others another.
Therefore, because the official Nazarene Teen Bible Quizzing Scripture Portion has it “at Cana in Galilee”, we will use that as official for this year, 2010-2011.
This does present an issue for the students. The yellow (Book 1) and blue (Book 2) memory verses (reference, quote and finish) will all be incorrect. I have corrected setmaker to the “at Cana in Galilee” version as well as the memory verse flash cards.
Because we try to stay with the official NIV, this could cause some issue during a quiz if a quizzer is not using our Scripture Portion or SP/Concordance. Please be sensitive, especially during the first part of the year.
